Taylor's Trailblazing Golf

How We Review Golf Gear

What our evidence labels mean, and what they do not prove.

The evidence behind a guide matters as much as its conclusion. Taylor’s Trailblazing Golf separates research, direct observation and editorial judgement. No product is described as personally tested simply because specifications or other reviews have been read.

Research-led comparison

A comparison assembled from original documentation, exact model specifications, dated prices, warranty information and clearly attributed external evidence. It can explain documented differences and suitable questions to ask. It cannot establish personal comfort, real-world durability or a golfer’s results without relevant direct evidence.

Specification check

A focused check of a defined claim, such as a dimension, model feature or documented compatibility requirement. This is narrower than a complete product review. Sources and any conflicts should be identified.

Hands-on review

Used only when someone has actually handled or used the product. The article must identify the exact item, how it was obtained, who used it, the period and conditions, and what was observed. A brief indoor check must not become a claim about a full season of use.

Measured or on-course results

Measurements need a stated method, equipment, conditions and limitations. Results from one person or session must not be presented as a guarantee for another golfer. Manufacturer claims and third-party results must remain attributed to their sources.

How comparisons are organised

  • Define the golfer, use case and budget before selecting products.
  • Identify the exact model and version, including relevant size, handedness, build or accessories.
  • Use the same meaningful criteria across the comparison.
  • Explain drawbacks, missing evidence and the circumstances in which an alternative makes more sense.
  • Date time-sensitive checks and distinguish a price observation from an ongoing offer.

Fit, safety and competition rules

A website cannot inspect a damaged club or fit an individual remotely. Refer fitting, structural repairs and health concerns to appropriate professionals. Check event requirements with the organiser and current equipment information with the responsible authority or manufacturer.

Samples, sponsorship and affiliate relationships must be identified. No fee buys a positive verdict, a fabricated score or an undisclosed link. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
